Grenada Rugby World 7's

2023 GRW7s Charity Golf Tournament

Gavin Clark

Grenada Rugby World 7s (GRW7s) is again partnering with the Rotary Club of Grenada and the Grenada Golf and Country Club (GGCC) to host our annual local Charity Golf Tournament, with proceeds going to the Grenada Cancer Society.

Now in its third year, the 2023 Gavin Clark Memorial GRW7s Charity Golf Tournament is set to be held on Wednesday 29th November at the Grenada Golf and Country Club as part of this year’s action-packed Official GRW7s Schedule of Events.

The event is open to participants from all over world, both golfers and non-golfers, locals and visitors, and is hosted in honor of Caribbean rugby stalwart, avid Women’s rugby supporter, and keen golfer Gavin Clark, who died in 2019.

Participating in the Tournament requires a donation of US $100 per person, which includes a round of golf at the picturesque Grenada Golf Course as well as a three-course lunch. This year, a further US $100 will be contributed by an anonymous donor for every person who participates.

We are sincerely grateful for the unwavering support received from Grenada to enable GRW7s – the longest running club rugby tournament in the region – to continue its legacy, and this Charity Event is our way of giving something extra back to the community.

A variety of local businesses have dug deep to show their support for the Golf Tournament by donating a diverse selection of prizes for the winners and runners-up including discounted restaurant vouchers, hampers, and the trophies themselves, as well as a ‘booby prize’ for the last-placed team and other light-hearted awards to be shared.

Last year’s event raised close to EC $5000 for the Grenada Cancer Society, and this year we aim to raise even more funds that will assist with the delivery of essential cancer care and support services to the Grenadian population.
